Agencies wishing to send 10 or more participants will receive a special rate. If you Pre-Pay for 10 participants to attend a full day of seminars, ABCAC will allow you to send 12 participants. That’s 12 for the price of 10 with free lunch. To take advantage of this special rate, please contact Diane DeGeorge at (602) 251-8548.

ABCAC will present full day seminars at your facility. We require a minimum of 10 participants, a suitable room, and a large Dry-Erase Board. Names of all participants must be supplied in advance for certificates to be available at the end of the seminar.  Ethics for Substance Abuse Counselors

In addition to the obvious ‘Don’t sleep with or steal from your clients’, the goal of this seminar is to help therapist recognize some of the more gray areas of and various sources of our professional ethics. This is a didactic and experiential presentation. By Sonny Anderson, CADAC, LISAC 

HIV/AIDS and STD’s
In addition to the medical aspects of HIV/AIDS and STD’s, this presenter will give practical information that maybe helpful in teaching “Harm Reduction” that clients can incorporate into their life style as they work towards more functional decision making. Presented by Peg Schanne, APRN-BC

Cultural Diversity in Counseling
This workshop presents a variety of perspectives on topics frequently needed by counselors working in our culturally diverse society.  Topic focus will be on the process  of attaining multicultural sensitivity and competence in counseling individuals in different treatment settings. Presented by Corey Sanchez, LISAC
 

Certificates for 3 CEU’s will be given at the end of each seminar.

Times: Morning Registration at 8:00 AM      Seminars begin at 8:30 AM   to 11:30 AM

          Afternoon Registration at 12:30 PM      Seminars begin at 1:00 PM  to 4:00 PM

Location: St. Luke’s Hospital, Phillips Auditorium (near the Main Entrance on East Villa between 18th St and 19th St.) Phoenix, Arizona. 

Price: Each of the seminars is $50.00. The price for two seminars on the same day is $90.00. Attendance must be Pre-Paid. Please make checks or money orders payable to A.B.C.A.C. at P.O. Box 11467, Phoenix, Arizona. 85061-1467.
 

Licensure Testing Information

New licensure testing dates:  March 15, June 14, and Sept and Dec 13th, 2008

The fee is $150.00 and the study guide is $75.00. You can make out one personal check or Money Order for both and send to ABCAC, POB 11467, Phx 85061-1467.

The testing location is on 18th St., a one story building with double doors, BY St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix but NOT in the main building. Do Not enter in the Behavioral Health Building.  When you pay I will send you a map.
